There are Seven internationally (CEFR) recognized
language certifications.
DILF, DELF, DALF, DCL, TEF, TEF Québec, TCF, TCF Canada and TELC.
DILF (Diplôme Initial de Langue
Française):
- This
course is suitable for absolute beginners.
- It is an elementary level of French (A1.1).
- The Core areas to be covered are writing, oral, listening, and
reading
- The Minimum age on the date of the exam must be 16 years at least.
- This test is valid for lifetime.
- The examination conducted by the French Ministry of Education only in the French territory.
DELF (Diplôme d’Études en Langue Française):
- This
course is suitable for non-native
speakers.
- In India, Alliance
Française conducts the examination.
- The examination evaluates four skills i.e.,
listening, speaking, writing, and reading.
- It is a Diploma awarded by the French Ministry of
Education in collaboration with the Centre International d’études
pédagogiques (CIEP).
- The certificate of Diplomas have lifelong validity.
DELF has five tests:
1.
DELF Prim (ages 8-11) for primary young learners.
2.
DELF Junior (ages 13 to 18) for juniors and teenagers.
3.
DELF is for every French
enthusiast above 18 years
4.
DELF Pro is for working professionals.
5. DELF Scolaire is for adolescents from non-native French speakers.
DALF (Diplôme Approfondi de Langue
Française):
- This
course refers to advanced or proficient (C1 / C2 level).
- C2 is the highest diploma of the CEFR as a foreign
language.
- In India, Alliance
Française conducts the examination.
- The examination evaluates four skills i.e.,
listening, speaking, writing, and reading.
- The certificate of Diplomas have lifelong validity.
DCL (Diplôme de Compétences en Langue Française):
- The DCL is a national professional diploma reserved for adults and
meets the specific needs of the professional world.
- It is the diploma for specific professionals of the
CEFR as a foreign language.
- This test is valid for lifetime.
- In India, Alliance Française conducts the examination.
TEF (Test d’Évaluation de Français)
- TEF is the
single test that help to obtain work permits in Canada and France.
- Any test under
TEF is valid for Two years.
- In India, Alliance Française conducts the examination.
TEF has five tests:
- TEF Études: It is suitable for studies in France.
- TEF Naturalisation
(B1): This test helps to become a French citizen /
Immigration to France.
- TEF Carte de resident
(DELF A2): This test helps to obtain a resident card from the
French government.
- TEF
Canada (DELF B2): It is for Canadian citizenship, with CLB 7 or above score.
- TEF Québec-TEFAQ (Test d’Évaluation du Français adapté pour le Québec): for Quebec immigration
TCF (Test de Connaissance du Français)
- It is for non-native speakers of French
- TEF is the single
test for those who seek immigration in Canada or France.
- It is administered by the Centre international
d’études pédagogiques (CIEP) on behalf of the French Ministry of Education.
- The test includes oral comprehension, mastery of language structures and
reading comprehension, spoken and written.
- Any test under
TCF is valid for Two years.
- In India, Alliance Française conducts the examination.
TCF has five tests:
- TCF is useful for Education or Employment.
- TCF DAP (TCF pour la Demande
D’Admission Préalable): It is necessary for admission
in the first-year undergraduate (L1) or architecture school student, if
you do not have DELF B2 or DALF diploma.
- TCF-ANF (TCF pour l’accès à la
nationalité Française): It is only valid for an
application for French nationality by marriage or naturalization.
- TCF Canada: to initiate the process for permanent economic
immigration for Canada with CLB 7 or more score.
- TCF for Quebec: To apply for permanent immigration in the Quebec provinces of Canada and take TCF for Quebec. The Ministry for Immigration, Diversity, and Inclusion (MIDI) accepts this test with 16 points maximum score.
TELC (The European
Language Certificates)
TELC is an
international exam to gauge language competency for school-level students,
professionals, and articulated content.
