There are several certifications for the Dutch language to study in the Netherlands or the Flemish region of Belgium, to apply for Dutch citizenship or permanent residence. The Dutch Office of Education (DUO) organizes it.
CNaVT - Certificate Nederlands als Vreemde Taal
The CNaVT certifies language
proficiency of Dutch as a foreign language globally.
To obtain the certificate, Dutch
learners must pass the CNaVT examination, organized
by the Dutch Language Union has commissioned this collaboration with the
University of Leuven and Fontys University of Applied Sciences to award CNaVT, in association with ALTE (the
Association of Language Testers in Europe).
There are four sections test: Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing
PTIT (Profiel Toeristische en Informele
Taalvaardigheid): (CEFR A2)
For tourist
PMT (Profiel Maatschappelijke Taalvaardigheid): (CEFR B1)
To extend the stay in the Netherlands or Belgium
PPT (Profiel Professionele Taalvaardigheid): (CEFR B2)
To work in an administrative or service-oriented profession
PTHO (Profiel Taalvaardigheid Hoger Onderwijs): (CEFR B2)
For higher education or research in Dutch University
PAT (Profiel Academische Taalvaardigheid):
(CEFR C1)
For teaching profession
Note: examination takes place once in a year, in the first half of May.
Staatsexamen NT2 Programmes
For people who have moved to the Netherlands,
(Staatsexamen Nederlands als Tweede Taal).
Programma I (CEFR B1)
For work or study at vocational level
Programma II (CEFR B2)
For work or study at higher educational level or university level.

Inburgeringsexamen - Civic Integration Exam
This is for the immigrants to the Netherlands from
outside the EU to obtain a Dutch resident permit or to apply for Dutch
citizenship.
- A1
level for the migrants who have been there for a longer period.
- A2 level for Newcomers are tested on all sections.
There are five sections tested in relation to Dutch
language, laws, culture and customs: Speaking, Listening, Reading, Writing and
Awareness of Dutch society.

In India, All the examinations are conducted at New Delhi, Bangalore
and Chennai.
