There are more than 25 Arab
speaking countries that asserted as Arabic as an official or co-official
language including Algeria, Bahrain, Chad, Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq,
Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar,
Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen.
Additionally, six sovereign states where Arabic is recognized as a minority language
are Turkey, Niger, Iran, Senegal, and Mali.
ALPT, APT, CIMA, E-TOAFL
ALPT: Arabic Language Proficiency Test
It is an international standard
for evaluating proficiency skills in Arabic language, created by the Arab
Academy and authorized by the ICCI (Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry)
ALPT conducts test quartet times a
year, in September, December, March, and June.
o The examinations are conducted in
both, online and offline.
o This course is suitable for
non-native speakers, citizenship & Immigrations, students and working
professionals.
o The core areas to be covered are
grammar, writing, oral, listening and reading.
o There is no age limit to attend the examination.
APT: Arabic
Proficiency Test
APT is designed to assess
proficiency in the standard Arabic language.
o The test focuses mainly on Arabic
vocabulary, grammar, structure, and writing.
o It is suitable for working
professionals.
CIMA: Certificat
International de Maîtrise en Arabe
CIMA is the
first internationally recognized certification that assesses the proficiency in modern standard Arabic.
The AWI (Arab World Institute) collaborating
with the CIEP (International Center for Pedagogical Studies).
o CIMA is
suitable for anyone over the age of 15.
o The four key areas of competence are writing,
reading, speaking, listening.

The structure and content of the
TOAFL proficiency tests is designed and conducted by the
AL-ARABIYYA-INSTITUTE according to UNICERT and CEFR (Common European Framework
of Reference for Languages) standards.
