Korean Language Certifications

Korean Proficiency Test helps to study, work, or immigrate to South Korea. There are two types of certifications with multiple levels and sub levels.

TOPIK & KLPT

S-TOPIK: Standard Test of Proficiency in Korean

NIIED (National Institute for International Education) administers the TOPIK globally. Additionally, the KIIP program comprises Korean language training and understanding Korean Society and helps in the KIIP (Korea Immigration and Integration Program) operated by the Ministry of Justice.

  • The age criteria to attend examination is 18+years.
  • The core competencies are writing, listening and reading.

Note:

o   TOPIK results are valid for two years.

o   TOPIK conducts examinations twice a year in India, April and September.

B-TOPIK: Business TOPIK

This exam is only for non-native populations.

  •  The age criteria to attend examination is 22+ years.
  • The core competencies are writing, speaking, listening, reading and grammar.

EPS-TOPIK

EPS-TOPIK is an Employment Permit System-Test of Proficiency in Korean. EPS TOPIK is suitable for workers in Korea (for factory jobs or manufacturing).

  • The age criteria to attend examination is between 18 and 39.
  • The core competencies are listening and reading.

Note:

o   TOPIK results are valid for two years.

o   EPS-TOPIK is conducted examinations once a year. 

KLAT: Korean Language Ability Test

The KETS (Korea Educational Testing Service) authorized by the Korean government (Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism) operates KLAT.

It is suitable for non-native speakers who seeks employment in any Korean company or government authority in South Korea

There are FOUR levels, following CEFR (the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) rules.
